General Questions
What is roller derby? Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact (younger players play “positional” with minimal contact) sport played on quad roller skates on an oval track. Two teams of five skaters compete in two 30-minute periods, divided into short intervals called "jams". The goal is to score points by having a designated skater, the "jammer," pass opposing players. Our youth league focus on skill development, safety, and fun—no experience required! Who can join the league? Southside Revolution welcomes all youth ages 7–17 of any gender and skill level. We offer age- and skill-appropriate training groups to ensure every skater learns and advances at their own pace. Our league has several teams based on skill level, rather than age, ensuring that skaters are challenged and engaged on their teams.

Safety always comes first.
