About Us

Southside Revolution is a nonprofit youth roller derby league that has been operating since 2014. We’re an open league that has 5 teams that play and practice in South Seattle, WA.

Our Mission

SSR’s primary purpose is to foster a community of support for youth players ages 7 to 18 and of any gender identity* through team roller derby competition. SSR shall develop and maintain a south Seattle-area roller derby league and organize teams for local, national, and international roller derby competition. The league plays under the guidance of the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) and follows their code of conduct.

Core Values

1. We play hard, train smart, and always bring the fun.
We give our all on the track, push ourselves to grow, and never forget that derby should be
exciting, empowering, and full of joy.

2. We lead with respect.
We respect ourselves, our teammates, our coaches, our opponents, officials, and fans. Every interaction reflects the values of our league.

3. Teamwork fuels our success.
We celebrate each other’s efforts and put the team first. There’s no room for ego—our strength is in our unity.

4. We win with humility and lose with grace.
Victory doesn’t make us boastful, and defeat doesn’t break our spirit. We learn, grow, and
move forward—always with class.

5. We represent SSR with pride, on and off the track.
Whether we’re skating, coaching, cheering, or just being part of the community, we carry the
SSR name with integrity, positivity, and passion.
