About Us

Southside Revolution is a nonprofit youth roller derby league that has been operating since 2014. We’re an open league that has 5 teams that play and practice in South Seattle, WA.

Our Mission

SSR’s primary purpose is to foster a community of support for youth players ages 7 to 18 and of any gender identity* through team roller derby competition. SSR shall develop and maintain a south Seattle-area roller derby league and organize teams for local, national, and international roller derby competition. The league plays under the guidance of the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) and follows their code of conduct.

Core Values

The spirit of these values guide the behavior and actions of league skaters, coaches, officials, parents/guardians, and volunteers within the league and as representatives of SSR.

Our values are:

  • We play strong, train smart, and have fun.

  • We play fair and hard at all times.

  • We respect our opponents, officials, and spectators.

  • We conduct ourselves with the highest degree of character on and off the track.

  • We observe and follow all training rules and league policies.

  • We give opponents the credit for their ability and the respect we would hope to receive in return.

  • We are modest and considerate in victory; we are gracious in defeat.

  • We realize it is an honor and a privilege to represent SSR.

  • We understand that team success comes before individual recognition.

  • We agree that sportsmanship and competition are the primary reasons for competitive team athletics.
